Richard Howarth - Pastor of Visitation
Rev. Richard Howarth (Dick) came to First Church as the part-time Minister of Visitation in September, 2005. He assists in the weekly worship services, visits ill and shut-in members of the congregation, and teaches occasional adult classes.
Dick is a recently retired ministerial member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. Most recently he served as pastor of the Spring City United Methodist Church from 1999 through June, 2005.
Dick recently completed service as the volunteer Conference Secretary of Global Ministries for the conference. In that capacity he encouraged United Methodist congregations to support mission in the community, region and world.
Dick is a graduate of Bucknell University and the Theological School of Drew University, and has also studied at the Lancaster Seminary of the United Church of Christ. He is married to Judy Howarth, and they reside in Royersford. Dick and Judy recently celebrated their forty-first anniversary, are the parents of Linda Cohen and Nancy Miller and have four grandchildren.
