Each Sunday at First Church from Labor Day to Memorial day, we offer a wide variety of Sunday School classes for young and old alike. Our Nursery is staffed during the Sunday School hour as well as during our first and second Services. All classes start after the completion of our first service at approximately 9:30 a.m. Please contact our Pastor of Christian Education, Eva Johnson (ejohnson@fumcphoenixville.org) if you have any questions.
Nursery
Care is provided for infants and toddlers up to age 2 in Room 8 by our Staff Caregiver Madysen Bilodeau. Children are nurtured through play and stories.
Children's Classes
Preschool 2’s and 3’s – Room 9
This class, taught by Betty Moore and Diane Keller with the assistance of several moms, offers a safe, nurturing environment for our littlest students following the Rock Solid curriculum.
PreK- K – Room 10
This class, taught by Dot Wood with the assistance of John Allen and Jeff Yeagle, moves children to the next level of exploring the Bible and its stories using the Live BIG curriculum which includes a DVD segment each week along with stories, crafts and snacks.
WoRM - Workshop Rotation Method - 1st through 5th Grades
Bible stories or concepts are studied for a three week period using a variety of venues such as computer, music, drama, cooking, storytelling and video. Students begin the morning in their homerooms with their Shepherds who accompany them to their class for the day.
Middle School Class Grades 6-8 – Room 6
Explore their faith through the curriculum Live B.I.G. (Live your Belief In God) with Phyllis Tyler and Gina Haas.
High School Class Grades 9-12 – Room 5
Senior High students discuss faith and life topics with leaders Rand Coleman, Kim Arp and Alan Dobrischkin.
Adult Classes
Agape Class - Room 3
A comprehensive Bible study class that includes scripture study, discussion and daily reading.
Morrissey Class – Room 1
Topical contemporary and social justice issue studies using both print and video media are discussed.
Conversation Class - Lounge
Topics of interest to the group are viewed and discussed in relation to the Christian life, along with focused Bible Study.
Coffee on the Corner – Room 7
This class meets to discuss topics of interest as decided by the group.
